Product Details
Rare giltwood boudoir corner chair from France around 1910. The seat is original, only the fabric has been renewed in velour.
a boudoir was a room, especially popular in France in the eighteenth century, usually elegantly furnished, in which the lady of the house could withdraw. Originally, the boudoir was the space next to the woman's bedroom in which she could wash and dress. In this sense, the boudoir was the female equivalent of the male cabinet. This antique corner chair would fit right in the boudoir of an upperclass lady.
