Extremely rare Amsterdam School tub chairs from the Art Deco period around 1920. These chairs resting on three legs that are in good condition were designed by Michiel de Klerk van ‘t Woonhuys Furniture. A unique design. The chairs are upholstered with cream skai leather and are secured with upholstery nails. This leather is from a later period.
Amsterdamse School is a style during the 'Dutch Art Deco' period that is recognized for its expressive shapes. The terminology 'Amsterdamse School' is currently used to reflect a rather large period in Dutch design history from about 1910-1935, it is a part of the international Expressionist architecture also sometimes mentioned as 'Dutch Art Deco'.

Condition: Good. Wear is consistent with age and use. Great patina which is consistent with age and use. The leather in the back has shrunk a bit causing the stitching to come off a bit. There are no cracks in the leather.
