19th Century Oil Marouflé Painting H. Hartwich

A beautiful H. Hartwich (1853-1920) oil painting in marouflé technique. Painting depicts a man with fresh vegetables. The painting comes with a beautiful original gilded frame.

Marouflé technique is a technique in which the painter does not work directly on canvas or panel, but paints on paper (acrylic/oil or watercolor paper) that is often afterwards glued  on wood.

Herman Hartwich (American, 1853-1920)

Painter. He received his first instructions in drawing and painting  from his father. Studied at the Royal academy of Munich, and received a medal there. He studied under professors Diez and Loeffz. His specialities are figures, landscapes, portraits and animals.
